As a division of the Savannah-Chatham County Drug Court, Veterans Court, is a specialty court directed to diverting individuals with prior military service from the traditional justice system. It is a judicially supervised program designed to hear cases involving individuals who have prior military service and are experiencing a trauma related disorder. Through Veterans Court, the veteran will participate in services that meet their individual needs. There is an interagency collaboration between the courts, community supervision, the Veterans Administration, and the behavioral health system to provide inclusive treatment options that prepare the individual with the tools necessary to live a productive and law-abiding life.
