Biography

Judge Lindretta Grindle Kramer is a Savannah native and graduate of Windsor Forest High School. In 2004, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia, where she was a proud member of The Arch Society. Thereafter, in 2008, she received her Juris Doctor from the Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University.

After graduation from law school, Kramer returned to Savannah and began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Special Victims Unit of the District Attorney's Office.

In 2011, Kramer became a Superior Court staff attorney to the Honorable Penny Haas Freesemann, where she assisted the judge with all manner of domestic, civil, and felony criminal matters, from motions practice through jury trial.

In 2016, Kramer returned to the Major Crimes Division of the District Attorney's Office. There, she prosecuted major crimes relating to domestic and sexual violence, as well as crimes against children. Thereafter, in 2018, Kramer was promoted to the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney supervising the Special Victims Unit. In that capacity, she focused her efforts on implementing best practices related to crimes against women, children, and families, to include increasing coordinated community response and encouraging a trauma-informed approach to prosecution.

In December of 2020, Judge Kramer was appointed to the bench of the Chatham County Juvenile Court. During her time at Juvenile Court, she has served as a member of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council's State Expert Committee, chaired the county's Student Attendance and School Climate Protocol Committee, and, in 2024, created and began presiding over the Juvenile Court's Specialized Intensive Probation docket.
